Waylan Carter


         Waylan started his career in rescue at the Ware County fire department in march,1993 as a Firefighter/EMT. He attended Okefenkoee technical college where he completed the paramedic program in fall of 1995. Waylan continued to work at Ware County fire/rescue as a firefighter/paramedic until he made a lateral transfer to Ware county EMS in March 1996. He worked with Ware County Ems as Kelly shift supervisor until July 1, 2002 when he started work at Okefenokee Ems. Waylan became director of operations for the company in 2005. He now manages the Pearson Office. Waylan oversees State compliance as well as day to day operations for Atkinson County EMS in Pearson. He is an AHA instructor of Pals, ACLS, CPR, First aid. He is an AHA instructor trainer and K9 medic. He is also a Graduate of the Georgia EMS leadership program. Waylan is still evolved at Ware County Fire/Rescue as a volunteer in the southeast district. He and son Blake are evolved in several outreach programs in the Waycross area where they Live and attend Central Baptist church.
