Company Profile

Okefenokee EMS was started by Derek Mallard on April 1, 1994, in Waycross, Georgia, with one ambulance and two employees. The company plan was to do hospital to hospital transports and discharges and to provide back up for local emergency medical services. Today the company has over 100 employees operating 15 trucks in eight counties in Southeast Georgia. Okefenokee EMS has stations in Waycross, Pearson, Jesup, and Brunswick. Okefenokee EMS strives to provide the very best in emergency and non-emergency ambulance service by using the best equipment and the best staff of healthcare professionals. We are the only EMS provider in Southeast Georgia to employ a rigid quality and assurance program to ensure compliance with State and Federal guidelines. Q&A also oversees application of company protocols set by our medical director, Dr. Peter Wrobel. The company continues to expand to meet the needs of several communities throughout South Georgia. It is our goal to be the best ambulance service in the State of Georgia. We are here to serve.
